Hello!

Has anyone tried the kangaroo meat diet? I heard about this at a coffee morning. I do not believe in diets and was amazed about there being another diet on the long list of diets. Interested to read answers.

  • No I’m a vegetarian and eating kangaroo would never appeal to me. My husband eats meat and I do prepare that for him but wouldn’t be able to even buy kangaroo for him, I can’t do fish either

  • I haven’t heard of it. It would be quite expensive I imagine.

  • I haven’t heard of the diet, although it makes sense as kangaroo is probably as lean a meat as you can get – But you’ve got to have no tastebuds either!!!! Roo has a completely different flavour and although I’ve tried it quite a few times in the hope of ‘getting a good recipe’ or finally acquiring the taste for it – It hasn’t happened and I don’t think its ever going to!! You’re safe with me Skippy :p

  • I haven’t heard of it and l don’t think l would be interested either!

  • No haven;t heard of it. Kangaroo is very lean so is it like a low fat diet?

  • I like vegetables more than meat and Kangaroo doesn’t sound too appealing to me . Yet there are so many different meats to choose from , crocodile , quails , and now this is coming up in menus often and they even sell it at the supermarkets .

  • Never heard of it very interesting name doesn’t sound very tempting!

  • Thanks for the wealth of information JUNE11!

  • no i haven’t heard of this particular diet. i wonder what the rules are with it. i probably wouldn’t try it either though lol.

  • I haven’t heard of it either. Kangaroo meat is very low or contains no cholestoral at all. If you over cook it, it will be tough and not as tasty. Some people make soup with the broth.
You must buy it from a reputable butcher/supermarket that has processed it correctly. It can make you ill otherwise.

  • I am yet to try kangaroo and have heard many different stories about kangaroo meat.

  • Are you kidding me? Another ‘diet’! I have tried kangaroo meat, it is yummy when cooked correctly, but haven’t heard of the diet yet

  • Never heard of it, but my kids love kangaroo meat so we have it every fortnight.
