We did at my FIL’s house. My husband no longer has a blocked nose everytime we visit, and doesn’t have to have the air purifier on constantly. I also think it’s going to be much better long term as there was mould on the concrete when we pulled up the carpet.

I find floorboards much easier to keep clean.

I love the look of floorboards but it is definetely colder in winter.

There is significantly less dust which is great for allergies. Floorboards are much easier to clean also, however, carpet is obviously nice and cosy underfoot during these cold months (which i am really noticing at the moment). You also need to be careful to mop up any spills immediately and not use too much water when cleaning floorboards as the water can soak through and cause swelling. This may not be the case with every kind of floorboards though, but worth looking in to.

Yes I have done this in two houses and have no regrets. The floors are easier to clean and I think they look better too.

We had carpet in the bathroom and replaced it with tiles, thinking it would be better. It wasn’t! The neighbours ripped up their carpet and polished the floorboards underneath and it looks stunning! But is easily damaged

No l love walking on carpets with bare feet,floor boards wouldn’t work for me!

oh yes i really don’t like carpets, they hold so many germs. i think that floorboards look great too.

I did! I can’t stand carpets! When we bought our first home, there were tiles and floorboards everywhere except in the master bedroom and in the front living room. Before moving in, we took away the carpet and put laminated floor. “Golden pecan”. We love them! They make the rooms so much brighter than with the carpet! And the house is so much easier to keep clean. Here a picture of when they were just installed.
