I can’t say we’ve traveled Australia extensively, but I would love to see more. We’ve done several trips to the Gold Coast, Sun shine coast, Leura / Blue Mountains. In January this year we went for the first time to Tasmania and LOVED it ! The nature is beautiful and the pace of living seems a bit slower. In fact my daughter would love to live there.

Cairns is a great location for sun, beach and fun activities.
depending on where you’d like to be check out trinity beach, port Douglas or palm cove for a more relaxed feel of a small town. The beaches are gorgous and the temp is great all year round making it the perfect family destination

I guess it would depend on what state you live in and if you’re looking at car or plane travel. I live in QLD and there are so many beautiful coastal places here. The sunny coast is gorge but very, very busy. I live on the Fraser Coast and love it. Great food, smaller town, other towns within driving distance to extend the trip, like Bagara, 1770, Rainbow Beach on the drive up.
