Second hand items regardless of still being in packaging are still “second hand” they do not come with warranty or guarantee. Many stores often sell things for half price or less at the end of the season, so many people won’t see value of paying more than a quarter of what the retail price is. I don’t like ebay. They charge you a fees which is a percentage of both sale and postage, and PayPal may also charge a fee. Potentially 10-20% of the sale is taken in fees. You could try Facebook marketplace, local buy swap sell groups, or gumtree.

From my experience, people aren’t interested in paying good prices for good products. I have tried to sell brand new, unused, still in original packaging for half the retail price. No one is interested.

Try using Gumtree as well as I sold a lot of items locally and I ask for cash only . Best of all it is free and safe for the community , but there is a small charge if you have a lot of posting etc .. Check it out .

You could also have a small garage sale or enquire about the next market in your area.

Gumtree is a good site to sell things on. Try a garage sale, you probably won’t get top dollar for everything, but for most, and isn’t it better to sell and make money then not sell and leave it gathering dust in a cupboard or on a shelf?

Just remember even thought they are new yo you and unopened to someone else they are second hand, warranties might have expired, they wont know for sure if you opened the box or not and they’ll be after a bargain. Have a price in your head (the lowest your willing to get) then list it for for a little more – most people haggle even if the price says it’s set

Give gumtree a go or maybe a carboot sale/garage sale?

Post a gumtree ad (free) and do it on a thurs or friday, I’ve had the most success of these days. If your item doesn’t sell, oull it dkwn and repost as it will go to the top of the list again. You can pay to promote your ad too. There are some dodgies around, people that will offer to send an agent or paypal you – these are scams don’t get caught, go cash only and post the max price you want as people will haggle. Iv sold heaps if stuff on Facebook trading post pages. You will never really get the best price for stuff, even if it’s brand new in box. But you may always get that one person who is happy to buy something at the price you want. Iv sold portable air con at near new price, hubby’s gym went fairly cheap, everyone wants a bargain. Put a price and say negotiable. See how you go.

I would put in the ebay post unused never opened. Even though you have this already in the top description write it in words in the part you write up yourself. Also add more than just one photo of the product. Sometimes people dont like to by from people who are new to EBAY so one you have sold quite a few things and have lots of good feedback it hould get easier.

try gumtree and ebay. you can’t expect top prices for items just because they haven’t been used, even though the shops sell them at that price, they offer a refund or warranty which I’m sure you won’t be offering. the value of something decreases significantly the second you walk out of the shops with them. You really should be aiming at about 50% or less of the purchase price if you expect someone to buy them.

gum tree is quite good, but be prepared to wait for the sale.

I think part of the problem is people want items for next to nothing. I have a small ladies clothing stall [ Postie Fashions ] at a market once a month and the items can be new and the prices are marked down to less than half price and still they say it is far too expensive. A lot of the time you have to sell them for less than what they cost you! I honestly don’t know how I can help. Perhaps you could have a garage sale. People buy all sorts of thing at those. hmmm maybe make the items a cheaper price, make sure to include pics and good details. State that these are unwanted gifts or prizes and that’s why you are selling them
