  • Calm, excited and so so happy!

  • I didn’t find labour too painful but it was exhausting.

  • My waters broke with my first. We’d been out to a friends house for dinner, just got home and into bed when I felt a pop! I was about a week early.

  • I was induced. I remember the first contraction and thinking “That was ok, I can do this!” Then every one following that was murder, excruciating pain

  • First few contractions were ok and then I started to feel worse and within a few hours I had my baby it was awesome

  • With my first one, the first couple of contractions I thought “This is cool, I can do this.” Then the rest came in quick succession. With the next, I freaked cos I knew what was coming

  • First contraction, hmm, not too bad, I can do this :) Second contraction and everyone after, aaaaaahhhhhh it hurts so bad :(

  • I was wondering if it was really labour or just practice labour as I was overdue. I remember the pain shooting up my back as bub was posterior and it was very intense.

  • Pain across stomach, increases to more intense. My water didn’t break. Dr had to do that.

  • I wanted to know where the pain killers were :)

  • First labour, I just wanted the damn baby out of me! 2nd labour I was really excited!

  • 1st labour, I woke up at 2 am and thought I had a tummy bug or I atell something that didn’t agree with me, after trip after trip to the toilet and 2 hours later it finally clicked, I’m in labour! 10 hour labour

I have had 4 other labours, 5 hours, 2 hours, 1 hour and 40 minutes lol

  • yeah crampy and lower back pain

  • i didnt know i was in labour as i only started off with back pain :)

  • Horrible

  • My first child start at 8:30 when i sat down to eat breakfast and i felt a Pop and a Grind in my pelvis followed by needing to go to the toilet. I had the classis when sitting on the loo, nothing happened then standing up, leakage. I knew then what was happening. 9:01 am first pains started and were immediately 3 – 6 mins apart. Called birthsuite who advised to come in and get checked out, we will probably send you home. called mum to come and get me, she took two hours so was a little anxious. Got to hospital and was 5cm dialated at 11:15 am. I was rapt that it was already half over, midwife said it would be a lot longer yet. my little girl was born at 5:44pm. Second child, had braxton hicks for two and a half months but the day i went into labour had a similar pain but was just different. that 10
pm abd child two was born 3.5 hrs later

  • OH shit came to mind, started at 8.30am but wasnt sure until about 12.30pm. Went to hospital at 2pm, was told that I was ages away and to go for a walk. He was born at 2.15pm 15 minutes later. STUPID MIDWIFE!! Nearly dropped him too.

  • Woke up at 6:30am with pre-labour pain and it got progressively worse throughout the day and my daughter was born just before 9:00pm. I remember feeling really anxious and scared of how painful it was going to be

  • I was induced as my son was making no move to come into the world (he was 11 days overdue!!). I was a little apprehensive about what was going to happen, but I was over being pregnant so I just wanted labour to start. Once things got going, I tried to ride the contractions out but after a little while the intensity of them became a little too much so an epidural was had. Once the actual pushing started I was excited but that soon gave way to exhaustion and the feeling of not being able to breathe. There was also an increasing feeling of pressure from my waist down. At one stage I was ready to give up but he arrived and all of the other feelings of labour dissipated.

  • I was induced after arriving at the hospital as my waters had started to trickle the night before. All was good until they broke my waters then all was on. I Remember feeling excited and surprisingly in control. I hadn’t been to any pre natal classes but managed to breath thru the pain and by constantly moving about and as my husband says i “did a little dance” by moving my hips constantly. I felt blessed and excited with the fact that I was going to meet my precious son soon which for us was such a miracle as we found it so difficult to fall pregnant. Anyways… Yes back pain and a pain that I can only describe as gettjng zapped with a huge amount of electricity. LOL. Thank goodness for epidurals and some wonderful midwives. Would do it all again in a heartbeat.
