Hello!

How did you decide how far apart to space your children when Family Planning?

  • We didn’t really plan. Ours are 16, 15, 11 and 7yrs

  • I think some things are difficult to plan. I think you just ‘know’ when the time is right. We have a 3yr gap.

  • We didn’t really decide it just happened. I don’t really ovulate and so I had help with medication/injections etc.

Fell pregnant with my 1st pregnancy 6 months after starting trying, (Stillborn) 9 months later fell pregnant with my 2nd pregnancy (Miscarriage), 2 months later fell pregnant with my 3rd pregnancy (Miscarriage), 10 months later fell pregnant with my 4th pregnancy (miscarriage), 4 months later fell pregnant with my 5th pregnancy (live daughter). After a while we wanted to have more and took roughly 14 months to fall pregnant with our twin daughters (live-6th Pregnancy), 7th pregnancy it took about 12 months to fall pregnant (miscarriage), 8th Pregnancy took about 8 months to fall pregnant (miscarriage) and 9th pregnancy took about 4 months to fall pregnant and so far am going good due December this year.

    So altogether roughly we have:
1st daughter – 3 years and 8 days later – 2nd/3rd twin daughters – 3 years and 9-10 months later will be our son.

  • Thanks that is a hepful way to make a decision

  • We decided that we wanted our first child to be out of nappies before we had our second child. It has worked really well for us.
Our daughter was 3 when our son arrived and it is a good age gap. My daughter loves helping get nappies/wipes etc. There is no jealousy.
