Hello!

Since having children I have become a night owl. I was always more of a night person than a morning person but now I find that I relish the time when everyone is asleep and no one is making demands on me. The only problem is that it’s usually 1 or 2 in the morning. I don’t want to have to go to bed and miss out on the peace . Do you have any ideas to re-adjust a body clock and still find time out. Thanks

  • Take short breaks during the day but not too often and sleep is needed dont miss out on well needed rest as you may feel underalept during the day

  • This is me. I too enjoy that time all to myself when everyone has gone to bed. I usually don’t get to bed before midnight or 1am and I haven’t been able to change this routine even though I should.

  • My sleep patterns never got back to normal after having children. I would be interested to know if you found a solution

  • Sleep clinics also have fact sheets on sleep – may be worth looking at some of these sheets for tips and information.

  • I had time adjusting to me time. I found that all my time was devoted to the baby. I be straightening her clothes and everything had to be perfectly straight. So I did not find a place for me, I was getting pretty stressed out.

  • It might be worth researching some articles on sleep as disrupting your sleep pattern can have consequences – lack of deep sleep which is needed. I get up early and still have quiet time when everyone else is still asleep.
