Sometimes cats can jump into the cot and its scary. There are products to help stop this from happening and try to make sure the cat is never in the room.
I was worried about this too when I had my baby, so we had a temporary retractable screen door fitted. Very discreet and worked great. you can also get dome net tents from baby bunting and the likes that fit to the cot to protect baby
You’ll have to keep the cat out of the room with the cot in it. Cats are known to enjoy nesting on babies as they’re warm and soft, but they can suffocate them. When bub is older you can let litty roam again. Always supervise of course.
