Hello!

With my first child, I was off the contraception pill for three days (accidently) and three weeks later I found out I was pregnant. My partner and I have decided to have another child and I thought I would conceive easily again. I have now been off the pill for 2 months and still not pregnant. How long has it taken others to fall pregnant after stopping contraception?

  • I think the more you stress about it, the slower it will go. It’s important to be relaxed about it, it will happen when it’s meant to be

  • I was the same, as soon as I stopped taking a contraceptive it only took a few weeks! I was shocked but happy when I found out!

  • it will happen when it happens just try not to stress and rather have fun! lol

  • My first I fell pregnant on the pill the same way as you! Second fell straight away and the same with my third but my fourth after 6months we finally conceived. All my other pregnancies it happened in the first week of trying, to take a bit longer was a shock and to some 6months is quick but for us it was unusual. So hang in there!

  • took me 5 months after going off the pill to concieve with my first, and second we didnt plan as such as my first was only 4 months old, with the 3rd i was on implanon for 4 and a half years, and fell pregnant straigt away after removal, with the 4th i was on the pill and went off to concieve and it took about 6 months..

  • it took us about 6 months after i stopped the pill. it can take up to 12 months ( is that they told me – consider age/health) dont be disheartened, as soon as you ‘stop’ trying and start ‘enjoy’ the process thats when it’ll prob happen :)

  • I’m very fertile, I have three beautiful kids. My advice is don’t think about conceiving and font try. Too hard.

  • As others have said, everyone is different and the more you stress about it, the less likely it will happen :) go on a relaxing holiday and have lots of fun whilst there ;)

  • Stopped contraception for 3 months then fell pregnant the first month of trying, with all three children. But I was ‘charting’ using the ‘Fertility Friend’ app.

  • Everyone is different, I think you are still very early in trying.

  • Ift took me about 6months with all my 4 kids

  • I don’t take the pill so I am unsure what affect but Don’t put too much pressure on yourself! The less you think about it or stress or try to hard is when it will happen!!!

  • Everyone is different, sweets. Just relax, stop stressing about it and have fun trying ;)

  • I was off my pill for maybe 4 weeks, when I fell pregnant.. I had no idea it would happen so fast, I was under the impression it would take a few months for my body to clear out the “pill” due to having been on it for 7 years, but nope! everyone is different, I think stress & living factors have a hugggee impact also :)

  • With my first it happened straight away, but with my second it wasn’t happening. The more I worried the more it didn’t happened. It took us five years and only after I gave up and thought oh well god has only given us one child and I should feel blessed. Once the worry of it not happening was gone I fell pregnant.

  • with my first i fell very easily but second time it took a bit longer. i was using no contraception for nearly 5 months before i actually fell pregnant. dont stress and just let things happen naturally. i fell pregnant with my second sometime around moving house so wasnt even thinking about it.

  • Sometimes we just can’t plan things-it will just happen. It took me 3ys to fall pregnant with my first child & 6yrs for my second without any fertility assistance. Good luck

  • Everyone is different just let ya body do all the work when its ready it will happen :)
