Hello!

“Hi MoM I stopped breastfeeding at 7 months (I was mixed feeding and he was having 2 top up bottles per day) and wanted to know how many bottles per day should my 8 month old be having? He is having solids but I want to be sure I am giving him the right amount of formula milk as well. thanks!”

  • 2-3 I think is the average recommendation

  • Check out the formula tins as they always have the amount of bottles each age bracket should have and go off that.

  • I would say about 4 bottles a day now with puree food in between.

  • About 4 – one first thing (early morning) – one after the first day – next after second nap and the last just before bed

  • There should be a consumption amounts as a guide on the side of the formula tin. For that age it’s usually around 3-4 200ml bottles per day I think

  • I’m giving my little guy (currently 8 months) 4 x 200ml bottles per day but I’ve always been guided by my children as to what they need.

  • Mine were having 3-4 – I normally went by the guidelines on the formula tins.

  • Maybe 3 but it is hard to say really, depends on the individual baby.

  • How many is he having now since you posted it?

  • My girl was having 4 at that age

  • Hope you found the answer you were looking for and all is going well for you

  • If hvn bottle it will tell u on side of formula tin

  • Not sure on the number of bottles as I breastfed, but make sure he gets lots of water in between bottles and also some solids and snacks :)

  • 3 bottles as they getting older u really need to cut it out eventually

  • As long as his having at least 3 bottles a day and at least 3 good Solid meals breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and bottles inbetween

  • The MCH nurse just told me my 8 month old son should be on 3 bottles (180 ml each) in addition to at least 2 solid meals a day

  • 3-4 but depends really on food intake. if they are eating sufficiently they dont really need it.

  • I think the same as other people have said about 4 but give solids as well

  • I think around 3-4 bottles.

  • At 7 months my little ones only really had maybe at the most three bottles otherwise it was solids…
