Hello!

Would love to hear what you get your kids for Easter? I am hoping to mix it up this year to eliminate all the chocolate. What do you get your kids? I am thinking stickers, a book, activity pack and a a humpy dumpy egg with a couple of small ones sprinkled around the house for a bit of a treasure hunt.

  • Colouring in books and a soft bunny was a hit in our house. We decide the amount of eggs and chocolate that is enough or too much, I don’t consider other people’s opinions in relation to that. I know our child has a balanced diet and a day of chocolate isn’t going to change that. I’d just make sure you focus on things they would like and use rather than buying stuff that might gather dust or the sake of less chocolate.

  • Each year my kids got a pair of pyjamas, a Humpty Dumpty egg and a few little eggs to find.

  • Love this! I don’t have this issue yet as my little one is only 10 months but my plan is a book, pjs, one bunny, and a special wooden handmade animal – nom handcrafted are beautiful! Therefore they’re getting the joy of Easter but items that can be utilised year round.
We will then do a small egg hunt xx

  • Would love to know the answer to this question. My SIL is so judgy when we give our children chocolate, and they hardly eat anything. We have got a colouring book, bunny ears and a craft set from the plaster house plus small amount of chocolate

  • Sounds like you have a great plan. No one needs heaps of chocolate and most kids (& adults) end up feeling ill if they gorge on too much. Non-chocolate gifts are going to provide more benefit long term anyway.

  • I’ll get my daughter who is also 4 some (absolutely delicious) healthy chashew milk chocolate eggs they aren’t cheap.. like $13-14 for a box of small ones but the ingredients are very clean and they taste way better than regular chocolate too. They are by Loving Earth and called magic minis. Great for a hunt too she already has a few bunny baskets and ears from previous years.

  • We are all adults in our household and tend to buy each other blocks of chocolate rather than Easter eggs. For children, I like the idea of a sticker/activity book as well as one or two Easter eggs.

  • I give my kids a presents and the smallest of Easter egg for Easter
By the time the whole family gives them eggs it’s just chocolate overload

  • I think we always go a bit overboard each year but we put them all in the fridge and are sparing with them and I’ll use any leftovers when making desserts and stuff.
We also give things like activity books with the stickers, bubble wands, plaster figurines and eggs to paint, stamps, pencils and those cheap wind up toys as the kids love having races with them!

  • Considering they usually get them from family too I’d be asking them to keep it small and simple too. We always do PJs, two medium eggs/bunny and little ones for a treasure hunt. Treasure hunt ones are to share.

  • Pjs. Flannelette.sheets. slippers. Book. Stickers. Craft kit. Bowl cup set. Egg cup. I loved all those as a kid

  • 4 – one for every birthday!

  • My children have always been given a hand made egg either chocolate or sugar depending on their taste. A colouring book or some puzzles. As children we always were given a marshmellow bunny that mum brought each year.

  • We have always done the following as this is what we were brought up with. 1 Easter chocolate, pyjamas and a book. Neither of our kids get any more chocolate than that. We have friends that go overboard and we find it ridiculous, but each to their own.

  • Along with the activity packs/boxes below, we also do a fun egg hunt.

  • I buy one Pana chocolate Easter egg for each, they’re a bit more expensive

  • We always mix up Easter giving with packs/boxes including craft & creativity, garden & outdoors, colouring & books and some chocolate & sweet packs.

  • Our sons cannot have chocolate. We have plastic hunting eggs that we will put stamps in and the occasional lolly to hunt, and a book each. They don’t need much!
Don’t forget – if you are doing eggs, hollow are safer as round are a choking hazard!
