Hello!

How much should a one year old should be eating? I worry if I’m feeding my daughter enough. She’s a healthy weight and never whinges for food but I am just curious how much other children her age are eating.

  • Well there’s no right or wrong amount. Sounds like you’re doing a perfect job, if she’s a good weight and doesn’t have food aversions you’re doing really well. They’re all very different at her age. As long as you’re offering a balance and variety. Lots of vegetables, and protein and some healthy fats (avocado, coconut oil etc) then she’ll be fine.
    Well done Mum!

  • Always offer food. All kids are different. My one year old has 4 bottles, weetbix, toast, sandwich, dinner, biscuit and Cruskit

  • Just offer until she is full. So,exiles my toddler goes through days where he eats heaps other days he just picks.

  • most likely 3 meals a day

  • General rule is 3 meals a day and offer until they refuse or turn away and lose interest

  • Sometimes she has 3 meals. It depends though her appetite varies from days… It also depends what I feed her. If it is fruits, she can eat a lot…lol

  • my daughter is about 11 months and she eats 2 meals a day. One at 10am and one at 6 pm. The portion is about 1/3 cup of puree. pretty little but she is a very small eater

  • how did it end up?

  • Hope you found some of these answers helpful.

  • I don’t think there is a bench mark as they are all different sizes. I’d guess that my daughter who is 18 months and looks like she is 2.5 because she is so tall would have been eating a lot more at 1 just due to her size.

  • What did you end up doing?

  • they will let you know if they are hungry or full

  • It sounds to me like you have a happy, healthy little girl.

  • Sounds like you are feeding her well. All children are different. My two have always been small eaters.

  • Kids will eat when they are hungry, as long as they are putting on weight and not loosing it then I am sure you are doing fine.

  • Serve a small bowl up and then go from there

  • If she is hungry she’ll let you know and if she is full she won’t eat any more.

  • I just serve mine up a small plate of food and see how they go with it. If they finish and still seem hungry I give them more, otherwise a drink of water or milk can fill their tummies up at the end. At one year of age I was still breastfeeding my kids after their meals.

  • She will let u know .every child is different
