Forum How old was bub when you first left them with someone else?

I have heard a lot of younger pregnancy girls talk of their plans to bottle feed so they can leave bub with others from an early age. What are your opinions on it?

  • Mine were probably around 12 months the first time I left them. I think it’s sad how the young ones want to dump baby to get their party on so soon after birth

  • I have breast fed all three of my children and have had to leave them with a relative all at 6 months. Once was for a funeral, once for a specialist appointment and the other for a wedding. I expressed prior and left the relative with enough milk for the day. I just had to ensure I expressed whilst I was out so I could maintain my supply.
    They are only babies for such a small time, try and spend as much time with them as possible!

  • It took me a long time to leave my first child for the first time. He was about 4 months and it was for a wedding but I left a few times to go to my mums and feed him. My second is almost 4 months and no plans to leave her yet..
