Hello!

My daughter is almost at her due date and getting quite impatient. Has anyone got any proven ideas on how to bring on labour?

  • I can’t help here unfortunately. I tried all of the different ways to bring on labour but all 5 of my children were born when they were ready to come. The good news is with each subsequent child you usually go earlier and earlier. I was going 2 weeks over with my first 2 and after that they all came early.

  • A stretch and sweep is probably the only thing that might bring on labour and even then only if baby is ready to come.

  • With my first to I tried everything and I was induced as I went 10 days overdue with both ha
My last 2 kids I walked, done squats when I could ha
Had spicy food but not to spicy

  • i dont know if it was just coincidental timing. But i placed an evening primrose capsule up there and went into labour that same night. I was 9 days overdue though…

  • Spicey food I have heard lol…..or excersize

  • Due dates are notoriously inaccurate. Instead look at it as a due period. You still have 2 weeks post the ‘due date’. Spend some time relaxing. Once your body gets the oxytocin it needs it will start labour.

  • what was helped me is duck walk. you can watch in the YouTube videos

  • Why would you want to? Babies come when they’re ready. If there’s any risk to mum or bub, then a Dr will recommend and inducement

  • I mowed the lawn, labour came on the next morning. A few of my friends now never mow the lawn just to be sure they don’t have a baby (not pregnant, just extra cautious ????)

  • You don’t.
There is not enough significant evidence of something bringing on labour.

  • I literally tried everything and then had to be induced and she still didn’t want to come ????

  • Sex, side way walks (one leg on the path one of the road, pineapple, rocking in a round circle on a ball allllll day. Stretch and sweeps

  • I went for a massive walk and that night my waters broke. I was told by my midwife to try this and it worked for me – good luck

  • Sorry – plenty of ideas, but none that I know work!

  • Hope one of those suggestions will work for your daughter. I never needed to find an idea as my babies came on or just before time and very quickly. Do hope your daughter has a wonderful birth time, with no problems encountered at all.

  • It can be good to savour the quiet and reflective time before a new bub is born and life becomes much busier.

  • Let nature take it’s course. Lot’s of these old wive’s remedies can be dangerous.

  • Just wait and relax. When it’s time it’s time.

  • I think its best to wait until bub is ready unless medically advised not to.

  • Nothing worked for me in bringing them any sooner, they were keen to stay and assistance was needed for them to enter the world.
