Hello!

How do I get my 2 month old to stop using my nipple as a dummy and get her to actually use her dummy? Please and thank you. Do you have any tips on how to get a baby to use a dummy?

  • I think they either take to them or don’t. My eldest was addicted to his and my second son wouldn’t have a bar of them.

  • Hate to tell you, but not all babies accept a dummy. Mine were never interested. But if you keep trying, buy a couple of different dummies, and keep trying them all. They might eventually take one

  • None of my kids ever took to a dummy. So good luck with it

  • Try all different types. My first only liked a certain type,

  • I was always told a breast feeding baby should not have a dummy, that being said my daughter was bottle fed and refused to take a dummy. Maybe try another comforter instead of dummy.

  • Either they like it or they dont but just try it over and over by putting it in her mouth

  • You can’t force too use dummy, I had two who were addicted to dudummy and 2 who refused to take it. If they want it they will take it.

  • You can try teething biscuits for your baby.

  • some baby’s just dont like it

  • not all children will take to the dummy. At 1st I didn’t want my LO to have a dummy, but it was the only way to settle him. Now he is 2 and 1/2 and I cant get rid of the thing. I wish you all the best and hope you have found an outcome.

  • How did you end up going with the dummy?

  • have you had any luck?

  • Have you managed to have any success?

  • maybe try doing a quick swap… but it is a common problem

  • Trial different types and they will let you know what they like

  • Good luck, dummies were a life saver for us

  • Hope some advice below has helped you.

  • She may not want the dummy, some kids don’t. But at least you wont have fun at the other end trying to wean them off the dummy.

  • What tips did you end up using? if any?

  • All babies are different, my first never wanted the dummy and my twins can’t live without them, good luck to finding out tips on getting your baby to use the dummy
