Hello!

I can’t afford to buy a Thermomix but would like something similar. I have seen an Aldi one advertised but never been able to see one in the shop before they sold out. Anywhere else sell one?

  • We just got a 2015 bellini supercook, and its great.

  • My friend has the bellini and really likes it

  • I am a slow cooker girl, and the oven too… I won a Bellini and sold it… too complicated, and I don’t like the idea of cooking in plastic stuff

  • I’ve heard that the Target ‘Bellini’ is quite good. I think the basic version is about $400 and the premium version is about $600. Occasionally Target will have a 15% or 20% off kitchen appliances which makes them a better buy.

  • There are tons of alternatives. Bellini, Kogan, thermochef, tefal has a thermocooker, maxichef supercook, there is also one sold in Big W. I have one but to be honest I could easily live without it. Yes it can make some quick meals but I now have a few friends with them and hubby has spoken to their partners and all of their partners complain that everything is soft and pureed.

  • I need an answer to that question too.. thanx :-)

  • Target has a brand of their own kitchen appliances which are quite good quality but much cheaper than the big brands.

  • yes thermomix is so expensive. i am doing fine without one lol

  • Target sell the Bellini Intelli for $399 and a newer model for $899. The Bellini has a cult following almost as big as the thermomix .. but it’s much more affordable.

  • It’s been interesting to read some the articles as I too would like to purchase a Thermomix but I prefer a cheaper unit available at Target & that does the same thing sounds by the sound of it. Thanks Mums.

  • Be careful about second hand ones and the condition and warranty? if any.

  • Interesting answers -thank you ladies!

  • bellini have one that is similar, obviously at a price point way below the thermomix so it is not going to have all the bells and whistles, but if is cheap enough to try and if you like it save up to buy a top of the range thermomix, Target have them on special frequently and also Big W had them out for about $250 just before Christmas which was very cheap, kogan also have a version, but with mothers day around the corner I imagine that there will be heaps of specials and bonuses coming out soon, I personally think that thermomix is a great product but is overhyped for what it does, other products do the same thing for a lot less.

  • Put a wanted ad on GUMTREE for a second hand unit. Some may come up with Agents selling their demo model and they get the latest model to demonstrate on. So get on the list!

  • thanks will look into second hand ones also

  • Do Not buy the aldi one! They were safety recalled … There r heaps of brilliant tm31 on Gumtree… :)

  • I’ve been looking at a thermomix but can’t justify the price. Its been suggested to me to look out for second hand ones on the buy/sell sites on facebook

  • Thermomix or similar product is useless. It is just a hype in my opinion.

  • Kogan makes a similar machine called Thermoblend and has listed the comparison between the two on their website.

  • I would hold off until you can afford a Thermomix. Save up, even if it takes you a couple of years to get one. They are the best machine on the market and worth waiting for.
