  • around nine months and blist

  • As soon as they start solids. Purée to begin with but by 7 months I was giving meat she could hold in her hands

  • Puree salmon is divine, healthy and excellent meat.

  • We started at 7 months with mince meat. :)

Talk with your baby clinic for specific advice.

  • I introduced meat to my kids around 6-7months and puree it up with veggies and gravy and they all loved it.

  • Once they have worked out the whole puree thing, you can add to their purees.

  • I introduced it at around 6.5mths in purees, my daughter is 9 mths old now and I have started giving her pieces of steak, chicken, fish to suck/eat.

  • probably around 5-6 months :)

  • thanks for the post, i was wondering the same thing. my CHN told me to introduce meat around 7 months, i might try that around 7 and a half, just wait 2 more weeks.

  • I waited till around 6months, I gave my daughter cutlet bones etc at around 10months

  • We introduced meat after our children had handled some fruit and vegetables first. We Introduce both finger foods and purees. Meat was probably around 7-10 months

  • I was always told that you should start your baby on solids at about 6 months old and you can do anything really as long as its very well blended.

  • My baby is four and half months old.yesterday I took her to gp for her vaccination.gp told me to start solids including meat.

  • hard to say depending on how much your little one is eating. My son started on shepards pie when he was about 8 months , could eat enough of it. i used to also give him a chicken drum to chew on.

  • after a year or so

  • once they are on solids and have a good chew action, other than that you can always puree some beef and such with their veg and give now

  • I started them off by looking at the local supermarket and the products that are available. If they are selling meat dishes in baby foods then they will put an age on the product. I think it was roughly 6 months going by memory but best to check it out yourself.

  • I didn’t try a lot of fish until he was a bit older about 1 I think. But as soon as he was able to eat heavier puréed foods I integrated different meats and anything we were having got pureed into his food so he could get the taste for a variety of different foods.

  • Depends on the age of your baby, their preferences for different foods, and how much effort you want to go to. Trial and error. Try some pureed fish or chicken from about 6 months, and if bub doesn’t like it, they’ll soon let you know.

  • It’s hard to say as all children are different. My first 3 kids ate meat before 8 months but didn’t have fish till after 12 months but my youngest has a very sensitive stomach so she hasn’t really had meat except the odd little bit of my chicken breast at dinner. So if your baby is older then 6 months and eating fruit and veg maybe try adding a little bit of puréed chicken or need to one meal and just see how they go and it’s all trial and error.
