When you start brushing your infant’s teeth with fluoride toothpaste, you’ll want to guard against dental fluorosis. The condition occurs when a young child ingests too much fluoride before their adult teeth erupt. This, in turn, causes white or brown discoloration or spots on permanent teeth enamel.
Most kids get the right amount of fluoride through a combination of fluoridated toothpaste and fluoridated water or supplements. Too much fluoride before 8 years of age, a time when teeth are developing, can cause enamel fluorosis, a discoloration or mottling of the permanent teeth.
Size for a starter. Littlies need the tiny brushes to fit in their mouths. Then there’s the firmness. So yeah, I would think age appropriate toothbrushes are needed
For under 6 it is good because its about the strength and taste for them but as they get older you can use adult toothpaste but just smaller amounts especially as kids these days are eating more sugar and things.
