Ring Phillips and explain your concerns. I am sure they would send you a new seal or let you know where you can buy one. I don’t have one of these machines as I am old fashioned. Just as a point of interest I HAVE GOT A FRIEND who sells the Thermomix. She explained to me that they sent new seals out to all the people who purchased the model before the newest one and requested that they replace the seal as their may be a fault with them. A lot of them did not do this. Anyway it is recommended by them that the seal be changed every 2 years as a safety precaution. I think that is fair enough.

Always worth following up with them for peace of mind and safety.

After reading other comments i dont think it would matter if it was a gift or not, a safety issue needs to be looked into. But it might come back that there is nothing that can be done.. Let them know of the issue you have and why you think it is not working properly, as a true tester this is the kind of feed back they need to be honest and not hold back.. but diretly to them ….. who knows you might save a lot of people from burns etc like the thermomixer saga…

I would contact phillips and state it is not sealing as well as it has in previous usage.. Do not be afraid to let them know.. the way i see it is you re doing them a favour if you use it a lot.. They might be able to give you a replacemtent seal to make it as good as new…. If not make sure he seal is where it should be remove it then replace it back in it might of moved during cleaning……

I bought one and it has worked well and no problem with the seal. Hope you get your problem sorted.

Because it was a gift from Mouths of Mums, I’m not sure the warranty rules apply with us too. What do you think?

Check with the manufacturer as to whether this is a common fault. If its happened to quite a few people it may be an issue with the cooker and they may replace the seal for you free of charge.

Oh no, that’s no good. I’ve seen Thermomixers on MoMs too, they have exploded a couple of times due to faulty seals, scarey stuff

If this works the same as the old style pressure cooker. I know that the seals on them used to perish after awhile. Check if you got a warranty with it. You may need to refer it back to the Manufacturer, or MOM contact the company who they made the arrangement with.

I received it last year too. I use it at least once a week and so far I haven’t had any problem with the seal.
