  • When you google “how to make your own fairy floss/cotton candy” you see plenty of instruction and tutorials coming up :)

  • I haven’t had fairy floss in years!!! Would love to know also.

  • You could always purchase one of those small fairy floss machines.

  • I think you need some sort of spinning mechanism. Cake decorating supply shops might be able to help you.

  • I don’t know how but it is a brilliant idea for a party!

  • The machines are relatively cheap to buy. You could always get one and have it on hand for those fairy floss cravings as well as the kids’ birthday parties?

  • don’t know how to make it if you don’t have the machine but maybe look at youtube

  • I love the make yourself ones, tastes nicer than the store bought ones :)

  • We use a fairy floss machine. I tend to use it outside or be prepared to clean any sugars that have flicked out. It’s so simple, just sugar and dry food colouring, stick or paper cone.

  • I saw some fairy floss machines pretty cheap in Big w the other week – not sure if they are any good but probably your best bet.

  • A bit tooo sugary for me but I do know you can purchase fairy floss machines and I have seen bags of fairy floss in supermarkets, so maybe purchasing a bag or two will solve the craving. Best wishes to you.

  • mom165081 – I have seen these machines and often wondered about the end result. Thanks for your feedback. A big machine for a party does sound good. Hope the mum in question has a good time with fairy floss!

  • A friend bought one for a party at home – it really didnt work very well at all – too small and ineffective, If you want one for a party – hire a proper one – I have seen this done for a kids party (parents operated it) and it worked beautifully.

  • Fairy Floss is such a show treat – always looks so good on sticks and in bags. It is a super occasional show treat!

  • You can buy a kitchen appliance that makes fairy floss. I’ve seen it in Harvey Norman. Never used one though, I haven’t had fairy floss for years
