I would say a few hundred at least but I guess it depends on how much shopping or activities you’re planning on doing there, as well factoring in the cost of food

Can’t you just access whatever is in your bank? Why do you need to take a cash lump sum? Or can’t you use an ATM in Bali? I’m totally clueless

I’d suggest taking about $700.00 in cash and have a debit/credit card as well.

$1500 should cover food and expenses!

Depends on your activities and spending habits. The important thing is to stick within a budget and do not go over it, no matter how tempting something may seem!

If your accommodation is already taken care of, then conservatively you could allow $100 a day for food and sightseeing. With 3 children, it depends on how old the kids are as to how much money you’ll need, as older kids will want to spend more on souveniers and other stuff. I’d probably budget on $200 a day for all of you, but I’d only take 1/2 of that in cash, with the rest on a debit card, which you could use in a lot of shops or restaurants.

Depends on what you plan on doing. Is your accommodation already paid for, how are you going to get around, are you planning on eating out a lot, is your accommodation self catering, are you going to see attractions that cost money, do you plan on buying stuff while you are there? All of these things would determine how much I would take and how much I would have in reserve on a Visa Card.

I think i would also set aside at least $1000 i would also get one of those visa cards that you put the cash on so your not carrying lots of money around with you, and maybe just $100 in cash.

I would probably set aside a $1000 but I wouldn’t carry it all in cash. It just depends on how much you plan to spend on each child’s souveniers.
