Mum clothing - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

I’m interested in knowing where mums are buying clothes from these days? Do you prefer Kmart and target or Myer and David jones, what other stores are your go to? Any wardrobe style advice? Thanks 🙂

  • I personally like to shop at Myer when they have a good sale on – i only do it about once a year so its we really fun day and well thought out – i dont over buy, i pick items that are complementary to each other and i find this works for me all year round

  • I’ve personally found it hard to buy anything for myself from Kmart or big W. I find the styles just don’t suit my body shape and really struggle since having a child. I tend to aim for shops like Myer seed Country Road although they are expensive I try and buy a couple of pieces that I know I can wear a number of times and to wear to most occasions

  • Personally I like to go to the op-shop. It can be hit and miss but I quite often find unique pieces. I like the sustainability side of things as well as a good bargain hunt. I’m not really someone who wears brands (I buy and wear items I like) but I quite often see designer brands that are in good condition.

  • As for wardrobe style advice, I think that is something very personal. We all are different personalities with different style preferences and taste. I would suggest just find your own style and wear what you like and feel you self happy and comfortable in. Of course the way we dress can be impacted by our budget and dress code.

  • I like to go clothing shopping together with my eldest daughter and we like to browse by and buy from Factory and Cotton On and sometimes get something from Ghanda clothing.
But I also like to make clothing myself. I just finished a jumper (knitted with crochet edging) and found some nice material at Spotlight in the sales, so ready to make some trousers

  • It’s a little tricky currently as I’m pregnant and don’t want to buy too much. Thankfully I’ve been able to fit all my skirts and dresses pre #2. I do like Myer, they frequently have good sales and a great variety of brands. I also buy from Aussie brands, like Mama Movement and Proud Poppy. Things that are easy to move around and comfortable. Kmart can be very hit and miss on how long the clothes will hold up, and I hate fast fashion
