My 7 month old hates being contained

I need some advice, I have a 7 month old girl and she hates being contained in anything! Including her stroller which means when we are out and about half the time I end up carrying her and pushing the stroller! I’m looking for advice on front pack brands, she loves seeing where she is going so she has to be able to face out front. We had a cheap one but it was hopeless and I get quite a sore back, so it needs to be really supportive and easy to get on to! Thanks, Jess.

good luck – some kids are uber curious. My son was similar, and I feel your pain with the height of the strollers. It is also important to get one that lays flat. I find it upsetting seeing young ones all curved over and sound asleep.

You could try a baba sling. There’s no age limit, many people continue to use them until 3 years of age and beyond..

7 months, yikes, you can only use front packs for a few more months. Have you tried getting baby play toys for the pram, the ones that clip on so she can’t chuck them out? otherwise let her just tantrum in the stroller, it might be embarrasing at first but perservere and she will give up before you need to worry!

If you are going to carry her I would suggest you get a carrier like an Ergo or a Tula, they do not allow for bubs to face away from you (bad for bubs hips – hip dysplacia), but both carriers can be worn on the back and bubs wil be able to look around and over your shoulder, and the ergo on the hip, they have waist straps to distribute the weight and mean you won’t get the same sore back. My other suggestions would be a woven wrap, check facebook you tube etc for “Baby wearing” there are a lot of helpful people and depending where you live there are places that will lend carriers etc so you can find what is comfortable for both of you.

The only reason I didn’t persevere with the pram etc is that she was screaming and managing to get out of the straps which meant it was getting really dangerous.

I just carry my little one, have done for months. She hates the pram, stroller, shopping trolleys, everything.
