Hello!

They are going 30/12 and returning mid February. What is the best way to travel with the baby so ALL have a good flight [parents and other passengers]. A 3 1/2 year old is also going but he is no problem. They will fly via Singapore [stopover for night] going over but straight home from Cebu, Philippines.

  • Yes be prepared and bring things that comfort your baby, most importantly this is yourself of course :) When you’re breastfeeding it can be very comforting and helpful to have him sucking whenever he wants.

  • Let us know how you go with this – it’s always great to share your stories with other moms!

  • they need to be super organised and make sure that everything they need in with them on the plane. brings snacks and entertainment and it is ok to take a stroll up and down the aisle

  • An overseas trip with a baby, could be eventful. Make sure you keep an eye on your stress levels as baby can pick up on your stress, which will make them stress

  • If you can take your car seat on the plane, it often makes a much more restful trip for all.

  • I flew from Perth to Hobart (more then once) with a baby and no problems. Look after their ears on take off and landing, get them sucking on something

  • I flew to America when my daughter was three months old and it helped to make sure that the baby was sucking on something during take off and landing to help with the change in pressure. Also have some of their favourite toys/blankets to make them more comfortable. Make sure you pack plenty of nappies and formula, if not breastfeeding. I found that some airlines won’t warm a bottle for you so investing in a travel bottle warmer may be a good idea as well.
