Hello!

I have ask this because I change mine every day but I have noticed in a couple of friends houses that the same tea towel hangs for a few days. I think this is bad for bacteria. What do you think?

  • We do weekly with the towels ????

  • Everyday I go through alot of tea towels my kids intend to use them to dry there hands lol

  • I change mine everyday also my dish cloth I know some don’t and it gets me that I don’t want a cuppa there.

  • We usually have four out at a time, and change them at least once a week. But if they are visibly dirty or damp before that, they get changed more often.

  • if its my teatowel for removing hot things from the oven i give it 3 days. if its the one used for hands or benches it is daily

  • I change them daily too.

  • I change them daily or when they are very wet

  • I grew up in house where there was a separate towel for hands and one for dishes, mum would change them
    Daily.
I have a dish washer so barely use my tea towel unless I’m doing a big cooking day so very second/ third day

  • I change it every day or other day depending on how much it gets used.

  • Every second day. I have a hand towel for hands as well so the tea towel doesn’t get used for that (I hope).

  • I change my tea towels daily. Mainly because other members of the family use them to dry their hands and then I worry about drying the dishes with them.

  • at least three times a week!

  • I let my dishes dry in the rack. *ashamed*

  • I change handtowels a bit more frequently . Well normally , if you wipe dishes , they are clean anyway so shouldn’t harbour too much bacteria. My mother used to change it everyday , frankly I didn’t think it made too much of a difference. She was always paranoid about cleanliness so she did that to be safe anyway .

  • I have to change mine daily because my son uses it to wipe his hands on! ;)

  • I definitely agree that tea towels should be changed every day to prevent them becoming contaminated. I also rinse my chux dish cloths with boiling water and allow them to dry thoroughly after each use as well as changing them completely every couple of days.

  • Depends on what it’s used for and how often. If they’re just for drying dishes, then hanging them to dry and reuse is fine, but I still change after a couple of days. If you have a hubby like mine who likes to use tea towels to wipe up messes…..daily change is necessary, more if hubby gets his hands on them more

  • Daily as soon as used

  • I change mine multiple times daily

  • depends on what they are used for – if its just drying dishes a day or two but if it has come into contact with benches, food etc it goes straight in the wash
