No it is completely normal. The vascularity in the gums increases during pregnancy due to the hormonal fluctuations. It is very important to have at least 1 professional clean whilst you are pregnant, continue to brush and floss twice a day. The bleeding should subside after delivery.

I am not fond of the dentist but health comes first!

It’s very common – they recommend seeing a dentist at least once in pregnancy. My gums bled in both of my pregnancies – especially after flossing

I had this problem really bad while I was pregnant too I couldn’t find any way to stop it apparently your supposed to see a dentist during your pregnancy as it is a very common problem 🙂

My teeth do this too. I would be interested to hear from other mums.
