Hello!

How to put on weight healthily? – My husband has lost a fair bit of weight and is now underweight. He has a more active work schedule now and was sick about a month ago which resulted in the weight loss. He finds it hard to eat large meals and I’d prefer to avoid tablets and powders. I’m finding it really hard to get info on putting on weight and most people I’ve talked to have suggested fatty and fried foods. Any suggestions on healthy ways/foods that will help put on weight?

  • If he has only lost weight due to being unwell and it’s all hapoened recently, I’m sure with regular healthy meals he will soon return to his normal weight. It will take time

  • I’ve come to this question a little late, so I too am wondering how your husband went putting on some weight?

  • Good to see comments that are about healthy choices. I love the MOM community. How did things go for your husband?

  • Do not let him eat fried and fatty foods! unless they are natural fats and good oils like fish & avocado! small regular meals full of protein, calcium and carbs is what he needs.

  • you can eat healthily and still achieve this. if he doesn’t want bigger portions, he should just be eating a lot over the course of the day, he still can also bulk up with muscle

  • Good fats and loads of protein foods

  • good fats like avocado, nuts, olive oil, salmon are healthy ways to get more fat into your body without harmful side effects.

  • If u eat right and healthy do some weight and use a natural bulking suppliment to help

  • Good fats (Avocado, nuts, oily fish) and protein (organic beef, lamb or chicken).
Full fat A2 dairy if he has dairy.
    Good luck!

  • I struggle with weight to and all my doctor recommended is to eat small but more frequently.

  • just get him to eat small amounts throughout the day and incorporate a lot of carbs in his diet

  • go to your dr and they will be able to suggest some things

  • i might have to try sun warrior powder myself

  • Eating small meals through the whole day can help you out on weight healthily. Eat more healthy fat – full cream milk, yoghurt, cheeses, salmon etc.

  • there are some good comments here

  • We’ll that is the reverse to most people. Lucky man lol

  • Milo drink, fruit smoothies, vegetables and meats, milk, yoghurt and bread.

  • Some good advice there below.

  • I know you said no powders but IsoWhey might be a good idea and things like Sustagen just to give an extra boost

  • Hope you found something that worked
