Hello!

Years ago I had a recipe for a boiled fruit cake and it was all mixed in the pot on the stove but cannot find this recipe anywhere

  • I make this one all the time; 150 gram marg/butter , 1 cup of water, pkt mixed fruit, 1 cup sugar into saucepan. Add half teaspoon Bi Carb, bring to boil let simmer for 5 minutes. When cool add 2 eggs, 1 cup plain flour, half cup SR flour, stir in with liquid. Cook in well greased cake tin 180 degrees check after an hour. For more moisture I add a tin of crushed Pineapple.

  • I can only say look for similarities in a recipe and hope it turns out

  • Hi I have made the fruit cake from the Good Food as below and it was super easy to make and was similar to the recipe I had before. I have not tried it yet as it is my Christmas Cake sure smells good so will let you know how it tastes if you can wait that long hahahaha. Thank You to Mom 305492 for posting it.

  • Has anyone made the cake in the link below? Would be interesting to know.

  • The link to fruit cake below looks so good. :)

  • Good luck with finding a good one to cook. My
mil had one she called it Plum Duff, would never let anyone know what went into it. Even when recovering from a heart attack she made my SIL turn around when ingredients were added. My SIL then had to mix it and do any heavy lifting.

  • My mother in law used a recipe similar to this, all in one pot. Sadly, she died in 2005 and I never liked her cake/pudding so I never thought to get the recipe. Good luck with your search
