I have a four year old with the flu and I am looking for some recipes to help fight the cold and build her immune system.

  • I use the carcass from roast chicken, put it in the slow cooker with lots of veggies, garlic and ginger. And let it slow cook away for 24 hours or so. The broth alone is a superstar. But if you want to make it more enticing for everyone, strain the stock, add more veggies and maybe chicken pieces or a packet of chicken noodle soup. Great immune booster


  • A teaspoon of olive leaf extract will build up the immune system. It’s a horrible taste but worth it.

  • A pinch of turmeric in 2 spoon milk if given regularly (once or twice a day) it really helps and another thing is add little black pepper in milk or curd (that ways it wound not produce cough)

  • Honey, lemon with a touch of ginger as a drink. Coughs are very hard to get rid of and can linger for weeks.


  • give her some cold medicine and also maybe increase her vitamin c levels with oranges or a tablet

  • Plectranthus amboinicus is a plant which helps to fight against fever and associated symptoms in babies.The leaves of the plants are used. It is a very effective home remedy for cold, fever and cough in children. Leaves of this plant is squeezed and the juice is taken. A teaspoonful of juice when given to babies would cure their cough, cold, fever, sore throat, nasal congestion and chest congestion.To take the juice,steam the leaf and squeeze it.


  • the garlic capsules sound great, ill have to try them too


  • anything with Garlic in helps with combating colds and natural vitamin c also helps


  • honey, and lots of water, even tea


  • Honey, lemon and ginger drink.


  • There are capsules that have garlic, horseradish and vit c. These are good to defend against the colds.
