Best place to buy storage boxes is the reject shop. They tend to come with the lid at no extra cost, they are a very reasonable price but best thing is the variety of sizes.

Theres a website called find a mover. You fill in all your details like what you’re moving, where you’re moving from and to then moving companies send you quotes via emailing detailing what they can do for you.

We have recently used a Taxi Box and it was fantastic. Essentially they drop off a container, you fill it (however long it takes) they take it away when you’re ready and store it and then deliver it either back to the same or a new location. It is so much cheaper than removalists and then paying for storage. They do offer a mover service so can help pack the box and you can access your stuff at the storage facility (you just need to give them enough notice to retrieve your container).

Whilst not from that area, we have found that having an entire sea container to yourself (whatever the size), means that your stuff is not unloaded, put into storage, reloaded and then delivered. The less loading and unloading, the better condition your goods arrive in. When we have had less than a containers worth of goods, the number of damaged items has been high – including broken stand lamp, broken bike, damaged sideboard etc…

My suggestion would be to ask companies quite specifically about how much your goods are to be moved, if they can stay in storage as packed in original container etc. I suppose though, it does depend on how much you have. You could find you are able to pay for the remainder of the container? Again, good luck and hope your new location is kind to you.
