Does anybody have any “tried & tested” wonderful salad recipes to accompany Christmas lunch ? I would like to make something “different” this year. If you have any great Salad suggestions for Christmas lunch it would be appreciated. Thanks !

  • Mediterranean salads are always tasty and fresh – tomato, cucumber, olives, oregano, and cubes of fetta – yum.

  • Roasted tomatoes are a big hit to go with salad!

  • Asian noodle salad is a absolutely delicious. The recipe can be found on the back of the dried noodle packet. It has capsicum, cabbage, red onion, noodles, soy, sugar, sesame oil. Best salad I’ve ever eaten!

  • a mexican salad is yum its sliced lettuce then layer over that tomato then layers of red onion then layer of kidney beans then mix together sour cream and praise mayo to suit your taste spread it over the top then put grated cheese then the last layer crushed up mexican dorrittos its soo yum

  • I’ve made this salad different times and everybody loves it. I hope you do too!

  • we do meat and salad platters where you can pick and choose what you want on your own plate and can eat any time, the pasta salads and coleslaws aren’t a big hit here bit carrot / celery cheese sticks with cherry tomatoes as mushrooms and capsicum on a plate with a dip in the middle works well even have some boiled eggs on it to. bbest thing can put in fridge for later ( if any thing left add some salami sticks and cabanna to it too.

  • apart from your basic garden salad or other greens salads, you can do a cold green bean and carrot salad with glazed honey and toasted sesame seeds. Also do a Cous Cous salad with diced up capsicum, carrots, tomatoes and herbs with a hint of garlic.
My grandmother did a sweet salad which is still my favourite today and consists of mini marshmallows, desiccated coconut and pineapple. Mix it altogether and place in fridge to cool before serving! It is really YUM!
