Hello!

My 1 year old, has just started walking, climbing etc. He is a real boy, wreck it ralph, kinda child. In to everything. The other day he fell over a sandstone rock in the garden and scrapped up his cheek really badly. It didn’t need stitchers etc, but its taking a while to heal. Wanting to know any advice/remedies that you have used to heal the skin on babies faces?

  • It would be something I’d either google or ask my GP.

  • A good vitamin e cream, but you would need to check it was suitable for babies

  • They all go through it, it’ll get better

  • i have used breastmilk, medela pure lan on my little one scratches before. Hope somthing works for your little one

  • I would use anything on his face. Just make sure cuts are always washed properly and no stones or debris left inside the wound and the body will heal it on its own.
If there is signs of infection speak to your pharmacist or doctor.

  • To be honest I wouldn’t apply anything.
Just wash and dry your hands thoroughly.
clean the wound/scratches under drinking-quality running tap water –
avoid using antiseptic as it may damage the skin and slow healing
pat the area dry with a clean towel and only when it bleeds I would apply a sterile bandage.
When it start to heal the skin may start pulling in which case you could apply a little sudacream, bepanthen or even better aloevera gel !

  • Be careful what you put on his face main thing is to make sure there is no dirt in the scratches and use diluted salt in warm water to clean. I would ask the pharmacy what is the safest to use on the child’s face as things change and you need to be sure it’s ok.

  • Depending on if the abrasion is light, sudocream woeks wonders

  • I find every product from the Mustela range to be brilliant. The Mustela Cicastela Repairing Cream is perfect for your situation. It is readily available in pharmacies.

  • Just be sure you arr cleaning it properly and should be fine.
