My daughter in law is Madison, my niece is Maddison lol.
Personally I like adding extra letters, like my son Matthew, even though Mathew is a traditional family name

My niece is Madison, so I’m not sure if that’s why I prefer it only with one ‘d’, but I think aesthetically it looks better with one ‘d’.
