  • Not much you can do about that as it’s hormonal.
What you can do about is learning to cope with it yourself. Don’t respond negatively on moodiness but with understanding, respond with kindness and give plenty of positive attention no matter what.

  • I try not to get caught up in his moodiness – doesn’t change him but makes me feel better.

  • There’s nothing you can do, it’s all part of growing up and adolescence, he will grow out of it

  • You don’t … you strap your self in and ride the roller coaster ..while being supportive and understanding

  • It is hormones and they will grow up and grow out of it in due time.

  • I don’t think you can it’s all about growing up and puberty I’m having the same problem with my daughter

  • I don’t think you can. It apart of puberty, just try to be as patient as you can!

  • there are some good comments here

  • Hope he grows out of this stage for you soon.

  • I’d love to know the answer too!

  • I hope its gone well :)

  • I don’t think there is a way – but I would point it out and ask what their problem was.

  • I can’t imagine it would be easy with teenage boys, I have girls and they’re bad enough.

  • just hang in there, it does not last forever, sport is a great outlet for teenage angst. He is slowly finding his own independence, you will both disagree on issues. It does get better and you will both look back and laugh. My son is so understanding of where his sister is as he has been there.

  • let them run a bit of steam with playing games outside

  • Take them outside for a game of cricket or take them fishing.

  • I dont think its just teenage boys….i think its teenagers.
Seems like forever but they finally get through it.

  • It is the girl in my household that is the moody one (she’s 13)! My 14 year old son only had a month of moodiness before puberty hit and that was it (so far). I think fresh air and exercise (easier said than done at times, I know) and making sure they have enough vitamin D. Lack of vitamin D can make moodiness worse, so it’s worth getting levels checked.

  • I find it’s easier to just ignore the mood and pretend everything is normal, they usually snap out of it before long (til the next mood though).

  • you just have to go with the flow and ride with it trust me boys moods dont last as long as teenage girls moods do they go on froever
