Hello!

I found out I am expecting another baby and had our dating scan. During the scan a subchronic hematoma was found. It is about 25% the size of the gestational sac. A heart beat was seen with 134 bpm and everything else otherwise seems great.
Has anyone else experienced this and what was the outcome?

  • My friend found out she has one at 13 weeks and has had bleeding. Been told to rest and not lift heavy things. Baby is doing well and hopefully the hematoma is absorbed later on.

  • This sounds exactly like me. I found out the same info today, bubs heartbeat was 130bpm. My GP has assured me to not worry and this generally sorts itself out in the first trimester. All the best to you.

  • Have they told you what may have caused it? Haematoma usually means there is some bruising, A normal haematoma is bruising which is bleeding under your skin.

  • I found that on my 6 weeks scan..it was bigger than baby. I had weekly scans untill 11 weeks when it despaired…but i was taking care of myself and i avoid bending, holding up my toddler, no running or pulling…no heavy lifting and positive thinking. Good luck

  • I don’t know what this is (sorry), but please make sure you’re asking questions of your medical professionals.
