Hello!

I was just wondering if you had any suggestions for birth control, including the advantages and disadvantages?

  • Different things work for different people implanon gave one friend migraines and mood swings, worked well for another but scarred her arm. Mirena iud worked well for me but a friend got pregnant with it (very very rare!), pill via injection (depro) worked well for me – no periods, whereas it made my friend bleed for a month. I was also on it too long and now have osteopenia (precursor to osteoarthritis). Oh and one friend got pregnant on the mini pill – you have to take it at the same time daily and she was breastfeeding

  • I had implanon and had it removed after a year after many problems. Any pills give me migraine. I tried myrena and had it removed After 6 months due to heavy bleeding, weight loss.So now it’s condoms

  • I have only ever used 2 types, the implanon when I was 16, it caused me a lot of weight gain but I barely had a period for 3 years which was pretty good and condoms which I currently. I use an app called mycyle, it works out when I am ovulating so I know when we can also have condom free time as lets be honest they aren’t the best feeling things. I personally like condoms over all other types of contraception as I am not putting any nasty chemicals into my body changing my moods and hormones.

  • Condom and normin pill

  • Condoms! They work and also protects against sti.

  • there are many options these days, talk to your dr about the best option for you

  • I have a Mirena fitted I think they are great stays in for 5 years controls normal hormone levels

  • I’ve been wondering about this too

  • Depo worked well for me for years, and I fell pregnant about 3 months after stopping. We are having a little fun at the moment with all the new types of condoms available! they have come a long way in the last 15 years lol!

  • I simply dont have sex :-D I hope you found a birth control that suits you.

  • Which birth control did you end up using?

  • what did you decide to get

  • What have you decided to do?

  • Best to talk with the doctor as they have the latest options and can discuss side effects etc

  • Talk with your doctor and they will be able to tell you the pros and cons for what each one does

  • How did you go about finding the right one for you?

  • Doctors are the best to talk you through this.

  • Best person to talk to that can answer all your questions about it is your doctor.

  • Did you decide on one?

  • I have the rod in my arm and love it. Puts on a little weight but no periods. I am on my fourth one but I had a pretty big down side with my last one. It failed, I haven’t had a period in 7 years but I fell pregnant.

So now I have a 15 year old and a 2 year old
