Regardless of whether you wear one or not you need to wash your air asap after swimming, both chemicals and salt water dry your scalp as well as your hair. You need a good shampoo that immediately gets the chemicals / salt water /sand very quickly and efficiently then use a good conditioner. I know a swimmer who is in a club that regular competes against other clubs. She uses “Pantene” brand as it removes the “foreign substances ” (her words” with one shampoo. She doesn’t need to do it twice – then sues the same brand of conditioner
Depends for who and the reason. If it’s for kids and they have lessons then I say yes but if going to the beach or local pool just for some fun then no. And as an adult I never wear one either.
Swim caps are compulsory at our swim school. My daughter wears the soft fabric type which keeps her hair out of her face but doesn’t rip her hair out like the rubber type ones
