  • we have this floatie that has a sun cover over it and it is great.

  • My girls are not fond of the water, am trying different things to see what I can do. Good Luck!

  • A ring and floaties and holding them to get them used to the water. A little bit at a time!

  • We have a blow up ring/seat that all our grandbabies have used & enjoy floating around the pool with us & keeps them upright & safe.

  • I started with the sling and graduated to floaters as Bub got more confidence in the water. So much fun and important to learn

  • Depends on age of child, I used to have like a safety vest years ago(bit like a mini life jacket), it kept my son up but had to move his arms and legs.Of course started by holding his hands for support and getting him to kick and get used to it. Later I used arm bands, both of my sons progressed to swimming competitions and carnivals. Me I can float and swim do aqua aerobics, but not as good as they became.

  • We have a blow up chair with a shade sail that the kids absolutely love.
We also take rubber ducks, anything that will float basically. A little net so the kids can catch floating fish. A blow up ball.
As always, stay with bub when in water, child safety must always come first.

  • When we’re at the pool we just tend to hold them and get them used to the water. Our older 2 are learning to swim so we will take them in turns and do some practice with them while my husband or I has the other 2 in the shallow water having a splash. We do sometimes use a pool noodle but still need to hold the younger 2 while using this.
At the lake, we put them in a life jacket so they can feel confident but have fun even though we’re right there with them anyway.

  • Thanks for your feedback mummies

  • my kids love their ring floatie that goes around the waist, they also love their bucket and shovel where you dig a hole near the egde of the water and they walk in fill it and walk back out again to fill the hole. it keeps them busy for hours. As we have more than one kid with the youngest we also put a light weight life jacket on the little one when he is not swimming and playing near the egde of the water So incase we blink and he walks into the water he will be safe.
How old is your bubs so we can give more suitabe answers.?

  • We used floaties and a ring around her belly

  • traco3,
Your idea sounds great – and more importantly safe. A great way for baby to gain some experience of being wet – not just in the bath.

  • Pool noodles are great as bub can gain confidence, I also had a pool bean bag that has a net where they can sit in can’t remember what it is called

  • I have a blow up seat/ring that I got from Clark Rubber. Baby or toddler can sit upright and float around by themselves. It’s good to use when you need a break from holding them.
