Hello!

My baby is about to turn 6 months old and would love to enrol her in baby swim awareness classes. I was hoping to get some feedback from mums and also if they know where is a good place to get swimsuits. I have been looking through various sites and all they have are size 0. My baby will need something smaller. Also, will a swim nappy be worn under their swimsuits? Thanks.

  • Definitely will need to wear a swim nappy so you might need to buy a size larger

  • I remember I bought a beautiful, non frilly swimsuit for my 5 month old from Pumpkin Patch. At my local pool, swim nappies are required for all under 3 years of age. The swimsuits are designed to accommodate swim nappies. Alternatively, just use a disposable or reusable swim nappy alone.

  • A baby swimmer nappy and little swimming tee would be fine.

  • yes, you will have to get the swimming nappies. Big W usually have small sizes in swimmers.

  • Yes you will need a swim nappy, I then just bought a little swim shirt as that is easiest for you.

  • You’d definitely need a swim nappy! Places like pumpkin patch sell swim suits in as little as 000 sizes. Rebel may have some small ones too.

  • there are some good comments here

  • yeah prob need a swim nappy on

  • Some excellent suggestions, definitely a waterproof nappy. There are lovely sun-proof swimsuits for little ones.

  • I have seen swim suits as small as 0000 in best and less. And I know big w and target both have at least 00

  • My local chemist has a beautiful range ffrom new born, have a look around

  • Rashoodz are great have smaller ones and great design.
I bought mine at the pregnancy and babies expo but you can buy online or I’ve seen them at our local chemist
My son was in the pool from 8 weeks

  • Pumpkin Patch online have some on sale in sizes 3-6 months and 6-12 months. I would use a swim anppy underneath – I think most pools require that .

  • Myers, David Jones and Target used to have baby swimwear, if not Google what you need, definately a nappy on you don’t want to clear the pool with an accident, the earlier you start them swimming or at least getting used to the water the better.

  • i bought a set call babymari. They are made of cotton and gentle on baby skin.

  • You might be able to find swimmers online or need to get a 2 piece (shorts and top) most pool will only admit a child under 3 if they are wearing swim nappies. They don’t want accidents in the pool for hygiene reasons.

  • Best and less have the swim pants, they have 2 sizes newborn to 6 months and 6 months to 18 months or 12 months. Or you could by little swimmers swim nappies by huggies, and I think aldi mamia make some too. I found my bub would get cold even though we attend a indoor heated swim school so I found baby wet suits that kept my girl warm, there are a few on the market, we used Konfidence BabyWarma wetsuits, very easy on and off. http://www.konfidence.com.au/#!babywarma-wetsuits/c252q

  • We got our swimmers from Best and Less and also Big W and the size we got was size 000, and 00 swim suits

  • Most of the Big department stores sell swimmers for babies and they will help you choose.

  • Babies have to wear swim nappies in most swim centres and the department stores have some great little swimmers tor babies
