I used pads for the bleeding that happens right after giving birth as its recommended. I breastfed so it was a few months before I had a period, but I was back to tampons by then with no hassles
I know this is an old question but for others who may want to know I was told after your 6 week check. Isn’t it a shame that so many of us need them so soon?
check with doctor, but not recommended as it can cause toxic shock syndrome which can kill you in hours, as it sets up an infection, basically after having a child you want your uterus to drain, not be clogged up with a plug!!! so as distasteful as you may find it, it is only a few weeks and worth putting up with for your health.
First 6 weeks they say to use pads. but if you don’t have stitches or rips and you feel comfortable wearing them, I don’t think it would make any difference. That’s just what I think, could be wrong.
