Hello!

I’m a busy mum of 3 boys on a budget and I am considering buying a thermomix. I’m a bit apprehensive considering the cost and don’t want to spend all that money if its going to just sit there. Keep in mind I’m not a chef or a good cook but if I have step by step instructions I’m fine. Thanks

  • Like any appliance, if you use it regularly then yes it’s worth the money. However I think most of us are guilty of getting appliances and barely using them for whatever reason.

  • If they work ok, they’re great. There have been stories of malfunctions and some of them exploding, which would be awful

  • I think it’s overpriced. But I also know people that have it and use it every single day.

  • Most people seem to absolutely love their thermomix.

  • I clean people’s houses so have spoken to many clients who own a Thermomix. Every one of them says that they couldn’t live without it now. You just have to be able to read and have access to the ingredients listed in the recipe. The Thermomix creates the rest for you, just like magic!

  • A brand new model has just come out and you can currently get it on 12 months interest free. I’ve had mine for 3 years and haven’t looked back. I don’t use it every day but lots of days and often do big cook ups at once. Have a demo if you aren’t sure. They just make things easier.

  • Thanks for asking this question, I was just thinking the same thing. Do I spend the money or is it really not worth it.

  • If it was me, I would spend some time on learning new cooking skills rather than buying an expensive piece of equipment which will probably sit on the bench after a few weeks.

  • Yes! Maybe if your slowly saved up the money up it wouldn’t seem too bad of a cost, but the thermo is is AMAZING!!

  • Thermomix’s seemed really overpriced, but lots of people have them and think they’re great.

  • Two of my friends on facebook keep posting all time with things they make using it and how little time it took to make them. They both rave about it so I say go for it.

  • My mother in law recently got one and is obsessed with it! She was never much of a cook but now is trying things she never has before and it actually tastes good! I would love one but could not afford one!

  • What has happened to other kitchen appliances you have bought in the past? My slow cooker is still in the cupboard and has been used twice in a year. For me I don’t think a thermomix is worth it but for others it looks like it is.

  • if it is going to get used all of the time, then I do suggest getting one if you can afford it

  • Are you going to use it everyday? Maybe ask a friend with one if you can borrow theirs too see if it really need it.

  • I have the bellini which is targets knock off of the thermomix it normally costs $399 but does go on offer quite often for $269, it does exactly the same as the thermomix expect goes in reverse but you just use a lower speed on the bellini.
I would love a thermomix but just cant justify the $2000 price tag.
Honest give the bellini a try and if you find you love it then just start saving for the theromix if you still really want one.

  • Some friends swear by them but I am on a very very tight budget and manage just fine without one. I think they are a toy for the more financially better off! If you are short on cash, better to spend the money on needed items.

  • I have heard people swear by them, they are very expensive though

  • Ive been wanting one too :)

  • Following
    Im also interested :)
