Get some jewelry wire and make a dome coming out of a cardboard box. It could be like this toys where you move the beads back and forth. Also paint the inside of an egg box with different colours and have a ‘sorting’ game: put the coloured pasta in the right coloured hole.

My kids made jewellery. I see you gave 2 boys who probably aren’t interested in jewellery, but they could make it as gifts for female friends and relatives. How about making 3D pics with them by glueing onto cardboard sheets. Or make Xmas tree decorations.

We use them to make shapes and patterns in playdoh. Make jewellery ( threading is good for fine motor development) you can also get a think wire thread on pasta and mould into different things like dinosaurs cars etc.

You can glue then onto cardboard to make make frames, even mirrors, or make a pasta art painting out of them.

Depending on the type of pasta you have used you can tread onto wool and make necklaces, bracelets etc

We have also used them to make pretty decorations; a wreath for Christmas and stars and ….other pretty decorations!

Place inside clear plastic bottles for maracas.
Threading onto shoe laces as necklaces or just for developing fine motor skills and to practice counting.
Draw a roadway onto a big piece of thick cardboard and glue the pasta on to mark the edge of the road, make gardens or trees or houses along the edge, then use their matchbox cars on the roadway.
Print out a picture of the boys, make a thick cardboard frame for around it, and glue on the pasta as decoration. A gift for Grandma for Mothers Day, maybe?
Mix up in a dish to use as colour sorter activity.
Try cooking just a few of one colour and let the boys watch the colour run (don’t think I’d eat it though). Even try cooking two colours together and see if the colours combine (like yellow and blue to make green).
I reuse Moccona coffee bottles to store other food. If you had spare ones, try prying the plastic off the lid, filling the lid with pasta, and resealing the plastic again. Very decorative, and an endless combination of one colour or multicolour lids then.

Pasta shapes are great for beading and sorting! Pasta shapes are also good for placing around frames for pretty gifts.

Maybe make up a scavenger sort of treasure hunt and hide them around an area for them to find.
Make pictures with the different colours/shapes.

make necklaces out of them, or put some in a plastic bottle and they can shake them like they are a musical instument. Then whrn you get sick of the noise you can re use them.
