My 7 year old daughter has been complaining of a sore throat… Any suggestions on some natural remedies ? Thanks x

  • Personally I prefer to use raw honey or Manuka honey, but you may find some more helpful tips here:

  • I use lemon and honey in warm milk , or just a tea spoon of straight honey ! Usually the natural honey if you can get it :)

  • Honey and lemon in hot water, wait til it cools before drinking. Gargling salt water regularly. I also like the antibacterial strepsils

  • Gargling with either water or salt water might soothe her throat.

  • Steam! It works wonders. Obviously you’ll need to supervise over a bowl of warm to hot water (or I use my facial steamer with my daughter and just stay with here while she’s doing it). I can get to all those places at the back of the nose and throat that can cause the soreness. gargling with warm salty water also helps.

  • Ginger is wonderful for a sore thoart.

  • Honey is great. Particularly Manuka. Strepsils with anaesthetic works well too

  • Gargle salt water. This can help!

  • Gargle warm salt water, also drink some warms after mix with honey and lemon.

  • I hope your daughters throat is better by now. As long as her glands were not up and she only had a sore throat – not a bacterial infection. Honey and hot water with lemon juice helps, tea spoon of honey, juice of 1/2 lemon and 1/2 cup of boiling water cooled. Or gargle warm salt water and spit it out.

  • Warm water and salt gargle. Try not to swallow but it really does work. 3 times morn, noon and night, :)

  • Bee propolis lozenges from the health food store (if not allergic to bees). Other than that, plenty of rest and water.

  • honey and lemon in water soothes the throat

  • Try some honey in warm water – best cure I’ve tried so far.

  • honey and lemon in some warm water will help soothe

  • Straight honey off the spoon works wonders to sooth the throat (if you can handle the sweetness)

  • Honey and lemon works a treat, as does gargling salt water. Depending on your daughter, gargling with Betadine Sore Throat gargle may help. To help decrease the likelihood of colds and sore throats, and also the symptoms when you get them, Odourless Garlic capsules daily can lessen the symptoms. Easy to swallow, no garlicky taste or odour, and they really do help.

  • I would try honey and lemon in warm water, we found this always helped.

  • Gargle salt water. I think that will help with the sore pain.
