  • Be relaxed about it !
Have sex often, at least 3 times a week, the more often you try, the more chances you get at becoming pregnant. Lying down for at least a few minutes after sex increases the odds that the sperm will be able to keep their date with the awaiting egg.

  • Orgasm after he has had an orgasm

  • Be patient, relax and don’t think about it. It will just come naturally when it is the right time

  • I would go to the doctor and then just try

  • start tracking your cycle, and do the dance before you ovulate (apparently there are a lot of people who leave it until they are ovulation, by which point can be to late for the sperm to reach the egg

  • Congratulations on making that decision, it’s very exciting!
Definitely see the Dr right at the start, you want to have a full check up & get your bloods taken. Also start taking Elevit or the Blackmores brand in pre-natal vitamins.
My ‘advice’ would be to just start by having fun, don’t put too much stress on it. Our life (& sex life) were so different while we were ‘trying’ for a baby.
After a little while you’ll get to know your body & when things are happening for you (this is where the gross stuff starts coming up so I won’t mention it specifically) but when you are ovulating is a huge thing and so hard to figure out! I know friends who didn’t have to worry about that, they had success straight away – if you do, that’s fantastic.
If you don’t get pregnant straight away & don’t have any underlying issues (ie PCOS etc) then don’t stress – I know it’s easier to say than do but it is important to not worry or stress, that absolutely doesn’t help conceive.
Good luck and check back in every now & again, we’d love to hear your success stories!

  • First See a doctor and make sure everything is alright particularly if you are trying for a baby for more than a year.it also ensures both are healthy.apart from that I support what others already mentioned .

  • Watch porn and have sex – lots ha ha ;) :P

  • Go on a holiday and get drunk! If you relax and stop worrying about it then I will just happen. I have had three friends who were going to do IVF and when they stopped trying they got pregnant!

  • I would have to say vitamins and eating healthy :-)

  • Don’t ‘try’ keep your sex life exciting, TTC my third bub ( now 37 weeks pregnant ) was the most stressful 12 months of my life including two early miscarriages. With my 1st two boys we just decided to not try album not prevent and they pretty much were conceived in the 1st two cycles of that decision.
We really ‘tried’ for this baby, did ovulation strips, checking my temp and all sorts of crazy things. I got obsessed and in the end just said enough is enough no more babies for us. Booked a holiday to Bali, fell pregnant that month using the withdrawal method! Could not believe it. So had to cancel the holiday lol!
Just go with the flow and appreciate the extra love making lol.

  • vitamins, relax, practice, get healthy, dont smoke drink etc, also caffine can reduce your chances by 50%, good luck!

  • The best bit of advice I have is to relax. If it becomes work it will take longer and you will not enjoy it. Don’t stress your partner about it, just let it happen.

  • Good idea to get as healthy as you can before hand, including your partner. I would get a check up, i.e. check folate and iron levels etc and start on a pregnancy vitamin recommended by your doctor. Try not to stress. Good luck to you both.

  • It’s important to eliminate some things first no smoking and drinking alcohol through the whole process to give the baby a great start. I took Folic Acid supplements as recommended by my doctor. Talk to your doctor and make sure you have a health plan and your insurance covers you if you want to go private. Other than that do not stress just have fun. Plan weekends away and holidays as you really are having fun days then.

  • I took the herbal supplement Vitex and fell pregnant the same month as staring it. I had herd the same thing about it which is why i decided to give it a go and it seemed to work really well for me also. We now have a beautiful healthy 8 month old baby girl and when we try for the next one I will do the same again.

  • Make sure you are both physically healthy, ie eat right and sleep right, and believe it or not try and be as stress free as possible (easier said than done) and don’t put pressure on yourselves. It’s also really good to sign up to an ovulation site so you can see when your most fertile days are, as this will also help. Good luck

  • If you are wanting to choose the sex I have heard try to conceive at early ovulation makes a girl and late ovulation a boy. otherwise anytime after your period or just before are great times …. get yourself some multi vitamins from the chemist also

  • Haha I often see this question being asked. Apart from trying all the midwife tales (which of course can be very fun to try ;) ) – RELAX. Eat healthy and don’t stress about conceiving. And in the meantime, enjoy practicing ;)

  • I found putting a pillow under my bottom helped. Weight plays a big part too, so keep a check on your weight. Whether overweight or underweight, it can make a difference.
