Hello!

My little girls is 6 months next week and I think she’s ready to start the transition to a sippy cup. Just wondering what brands people have found best to start off with and I’m after any advice at all that will help with the transition. Thanks

  • Tommie Tippee is a great brand. They have ones that help transition from bottle to cup

  • Nuby are good and do not leak at al when tipped.

  • the nuby ones from big w that are 7.95 with two handles in all different colours are the best

  • my 6 month old has a nuby one and I think he likes it

  • lots of brands in supermarkets and big stores (Kmart etc) chemists too. The transsision can be helped by you pretending to drink from it too, babies are great mimics you know so it is worth a go.
picture of my nephew in England he will do anything to get his photo taken!! Ha

  • Toosh Coosh so he can sit up at the big table without a high chair.

  • Tommee tippy cups are pretty good too,

  • I use pigeon mag mag. It’s the only one my daughter will take

  • you will have to try a couple first before finding the best one. I use timmee toppee

  • there are some good comments here

  • i like useing the ones with the handles on it

  • My daughters first was a tommy tippee 4+ with the double handles as it was non spill and a little size. I just offered it after every meal and helped her use it first few try’s . After she had that down pat the cheap $3 ones from big w are awesome. Sippy cups cop the baby rage and fly across the room /shopping centre/ car and where ever else you might be. So ultimate my a dive is don’t spend a fortune and introduce different types of cups/water bottles every month or so until you discover a favourite. Mini miss will only drink certain things out of certain ones now. Baby’s are such funny creatures :)

  • Our health nurses and speech therapist said that the cheapest are usually the best. Something with a hard spout so its not like a bottle and not a no spil as it forces the child to suck like a bottle instead of learning free flow liquid. I got a simple plastic one feom big w I think it was explorer/tommee tippee.

  • Just don’t get a non-spill one. The whole point of spilling is learning how not to spill :o)

  • Done a free some nothing seems to come out think we have some cheap Kmart ones and a few others
Make sure u clean well under the lid some of those cups have crevices and ridges or even where the lifliquid goes through and they need a extremely good clean as they are death traps, chucked out a few cos of this
Shouldn’t be made like that at all!!!

  • I use tommee tippee with the soft top

  • I tried almost every brand of sippies and they all sucked. So my daughter just went straight to cups

  • I liked the tommey tiptee ones (I think that’s their name) had good handles on each side and didn’t leak when knocked over.

  • We still send woollies/big w cups to bed with mr 8 and miss 6 as they don’t spill! On 2 pack, just their home brand – love em!

  • Definitely a straw cup as it get them ready for talking and is good for their speech development unlike sippy cups where they suck.
