Train or Plane to Perth?

Hello!

I’m from NSW and have often thought about taking a holiday to Perth, but I’m afraid of flying. Has anyone traveled from Sydney to Perth on the Indian Pacific, and how did you find it?

I see you posted your question November 2015 ! I’m curious if you’ve traveled yet to Perth and if you went by train ? May I ask what the costs were ?

I would have to fly as it takes so long!

I would fly as it is such a long way. I personally only like flying Qantas as they seem to go above and beyond when I have travelled with my children

I travelled from Perth to Melbourne via bus. It was very long, we didn’t spend much time off the bus, and it did get a bit boring. I would guess the train would be more comfortable

We drove by campervan from Sydney to Perth. It was very nice. But long!
If you have issues with flying, I would surely consider the train.
