Hello!

My husband and I are always battling dandruff. We use the shampoos and conditioners (T-gel, H&S’s etc) but it never completely gets rid of it. Surely there is a way! Does anyone have any treatment recommendations? Even natural alternatives? Welcome prevention suggestions too!

  • Home Treatments for Dandruff

  • I find the body shops (ginger) shampoo & condition to work very well.

  • Have you used a product already consistently and for long periods of time? My hubby has dandruff issues and he always washes with Head and Shoulders two in one. He doesn’t use anything else ever and has no issues with dandruff now


  • If everything fails I would probably consult a dermatologist


  • If all else fails, try tea tree shampoo available from supermarkets. It might help.


  • We use Selsun Blue when our dandruff flares up. The yellow version of it for when it’s worse. Regular use, as directed on the bottle, clears it up well

  • I think there is a shampoo called polytar. It absolutely stinks but I’ve heard it works really well for dandruff.


  • Ive always found it to be a lack in fatty acids in my diet. Have you tried isn oils supplements or evening primrose oil both have always worked for me. And is you can stomach it, coconut oil straight off the spoon is fantastic!

  • My partner has dandruff and he was told by a hairdresser all you need to so is have 2 different types of shampoos and use one one week then swap and I can tell it does work
