Hello!

I’ve lost 11kgs in 6 months but I am struggling with getting the fat off my arms, thighs and butt. Help!

    Losing “fat” at certain area’s can be hard.
    Think swimming is the best indeed.
    You could seek the advice of a personal trainer and work on your specific area’s.

  • Sounds like exercises for toning would be a good idea in this situation. If it is extra skin that is a different issue.

  • Check out coconut oil. I’ve lost weight while using it instead of other fats in my diet. Experts are in two minds as research not done yet, but my body is saying it works. Google it and make up your own mind.

  • You need to be doing a full body exercise. The best ones I found was the cross trainer and/or swimming.


  • Well done you! 11 kg is a great result & you should be really proud of yourself. I found that hanging a skipping rope on the back door has prompted me to exercise more & it really works on my arms, legs and backside. It works like this (because I so lack motivation) … every time I want to go out the back door, I have to take the skipping rope with me, and regardless of how long I’m going out into the yard for, I have to skip for at least 5 minutes. It’s amazing how it adds up & the results are quick and easy to see. Good on you!


  • Firstly – congratulations on your weight loss! Are you sure you have fat in these places and not just loose skin? Otherwise, weights, weights, weights will help tone and reduce fat.

  • If you have lost weight it is not fat .. you have stretched your skin and now it is all loose you should consider surgery to get rid of it


  • My doc said swimming is the best form of excersise without strain on your body. And squats!!!

  • Unfortunately you can’t isolate areas to target. Just keep moving and eating well, lots of water! Persistence is the key

  • You might just need to tone up a bit, increasing lean muscle can help us look and feel firmer. Well done on the weight loss, you may have hit a plateau so maybe mix up your exercise routine a little. Maybe try the plank challenge, squats and some lite toning weights for your arms! Keep up the great work!


  • For the thighs and butt I’d suggest squats
