Hello!

I am looking for some great tips that some mums might have on losing some weight. I am going on a cruise for my birthday in August and need to lose some weight before I go. So if anyone can help me that would be great.

  • It’s all about a sustainable calorie deficit. Look up an online calorie calculator to work out how much you need to eat to maintain your current weight and eat slightly under that. Never eat less than 1200 calories a day, no need to starve yourself even if your only eating 100 calories less than your maintenance calories you will lose weight. You can even indulge in treats as long as it fits in your calories. ‘lose it’is a good app with a free version to help you log your calories. Exercise helps and is of course important for overall health, bit it mostly comes down to diet. Good luck on your health journey.

  • Shut your mouth and move your legs is what worked for me!! I lost 50kg. Weight Watchers for initial motivation and food help is awesome

  • Healthy eating and exercise. Make lifestyle changes that will work for your family. Dieting is a short term fix that has long term negative effects. Make small changes so you are able to make them part of everyday life before you start the next change.

  • drink lots of water, limit portion sizes and exercise!

  • I know that the answer is eat less, move more, but I can’t seem to motivate myself to follow these simple rules. Maybe one day …

  • I’ve been doing the diet thing for years. The best thing is portion control (this means not eating after dinner too), if you get hungry later, go to bed earlier.. it really works) and smaller portions of exercises more often. 5 minutes a few times a day. Getting the heart pumping gets the fat moving I have found. Cut out the sugary extras, hidden sugars too like in sauces, drinks and snacks. And be honest with yourself with what you are actually eating compared to what you know you should be eating.

  • Join the club! Downsize your portions. Replace packaged/processed crap food with fresh, natural, healthy foods. Up your exercise. Basically, use more energy then you’re putting into your body.

  • i like the atkins diet and work out

  • Eat healthy and move that body.

  • Cut out sugar! Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper!

  • I am currently trying to cut out soft drink and chocolate from my diet in an effort to lose weight.

  • Shakes!!! I lost 35kg in 10 months :-)

  • Hey lovely I wish you every luck loosing weight. If you’re looking to tighten and tone for your cruise I would highly recommend It Works body wraps. Have a look at the Facebook page It Works Sydney there are heaps of pics there !!

  • Fake the bub for a walk, it’s a slow working weight loss, but it does work

  • I started by not buying snack foods, I buy fruit and pre-cut it up into the fridge and snack on them, make all our treats, always using less sugar then the recipe says, and divide it into portions and freeze, only getting out when and what we want.
by doing this we have lost 5 kilos each in 6 weeks

  • I like the dukan diet, protein based, has 3 phases, did wonders for me

  • Eat lots of fruit, vegetables, grill meat instead of frying it, drink water instead of soft drink and juice and cordial have sugar so don’t drink too much of them, ride a bike, walk, use public transport as it saves money and means you have to do some walking instead of use your car.

  • I’ve recently started Lite N Easy to lose some weight for an upcoming trip.

  • cut your carbs and sugar and eat healthy and clean and trust me you will see a big different, even treat your self on weekends or during the day but very very small amounts

  • Look at the serving sizes of your meals and maybe use a smaller plate when you eat.
