Mine were all about 4 and a half years.

My eldest was toilet trained when she was around 3yrs old. My son was about 4yrs old but had occasional accidents in the night till he was about 10yrs old. My 3rd one was toilet trained at 1yr old ! And my youngest has Down Syndrome and is at age 6yr not fully toilet trained yet. They’re all different 🙂

yeah they will “dry” up in time. don’t worry! at least you have daytime sorted. that is good.

I had three children go through toilet training two boys and one girl. The answer is so simple. There isn’t one. Every single child will train at a different age. If your lad is still wetting the bed at night & at three that is really not unusual I would get him some pullups so he doesn’t feel like a baby & tell him that he wont need them for ever but it is way better than a wet bed. You could also cut his fluids down a little but really he will stop when he is ready either in a week or a year. Does it matter? Just make sure he doesn’t think there is something wrong with him & it will all happen as nature intended. Some parents to put their child on the loo before they go to bed & I believe it does help but it also interrupts his sleep so I would leave that one for a few months. One of my boys was completely effortlessly trained by 20 months by the way, (he hated being wet or dirty) the other two were completely unconcerned and at the OPPOSITE end of the spectrum.
Don’t worry for at least another year and then you could ask your doctor about it. Pullups because WET beds are yuck for parents and children.

Sorry to hijack – to those ladies who restricted fluids. How did you manage that? Seems like a silly question I know but I have tried that with my daughter and she just keeps waking up saying she needs a drink. Usually she will drink 500ml between tea time and bed, then will want a water bottle in her room with her. My husband said to me the other day that he thinks she will be in nappies overnight until she’s a teenager haha

My oldest son was a little over 2 and 1/2 when he was toilet trained but still wore nappies at night. He was 3 when he told us he didn’t want to wear nappies at night anymore. He was pretty good so I think it comes down to when they are ready. Get a really good mattress protector in case of accidents and just be prepared for the occasional accident. But if your child thinks they’re ready then that’s a pretty good indicator.

my first was 3, second was almost 4, it all depends on the child. i bought some plastic sheets and that seemed to work. i also took them to the toilet when i went to bed and restricted drinks after dinner

My daughter was 3 years and 7 months old. Quite late, I know. But luckily once she was toilet trained during the day, I asked her if she was willing to try without nappies in the night and that was it. She was ready. She never had an accident in bed. That surely saved me some washing. Ha! Ha!

My son turns 3 in a few days and we have finally reached fully toilet trained – hallelujah!

My daughter is also 3 and still in nappies overnight. She wakes up soaking wet so is obviously not ready for knickers overnight yet. She drinks an incredible amount of water during the day, just like her father. You’d swear they were fish out of water!! I do know people though who have 4-5 year olds who are still not trained overnight. Not entirely sure of the reasons behind it but I believe all kids do things in their own time. Hang in there mumma 🙂

First born was bit over 2 and second tad under 3. Thought it may have been the other way around but ti wasn;t.

Around 2 1/2, but the age is quite variable. Be directed by your child, and expect accidents for a while afterwards when excited/distracted. Quite normal.

My son was day time dry at 20 months, night time dry a couple of months later. My daughter was day time dry at nearly 2 and night time dry at 4. Only because I jest putting nappies on, once I stopped the night time nappy, she stopped wetting
